Review: Zalora App is now available on Android

Fans of Zalora, if you are using an Android phone right now, download the Zalora app now. Yes, it is finally available on Android (3 months after their launch on iOS).

The Android app is easy to use. For those who had used such shopping apps before, it will be a breeze. First of all, it will ask you which country you wish to select (see above picture). You can see Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

You actually don’t need an account to browse through the items. However, if you want to purchase something, you will definitely need one. You can apply for the account in-app.

Here is what the app can do: –

  • Receive push notifications on new arrivals and flash sales so that they are always in the know
  • Easily browse for a quick overview of product information, images, ratings and reviews
  • Add items to cart and infinitely save them for later (*as long as the app is kept active)
  • Pick from multiple payment methods – Credit Card, PayPal, Cash-On-Delivery

The first and the last features are my favorite. Here is the check-out screenshots. Love it that they have Cash-on-Delivery and PayPal in it.

The display of the app is very neat. For example, on the page when you activate the app, you can see clearly these sections, “Women”, “Men”, “New Arrivals”, and “Sale”.

For the “Sale” action, you can see the percentage of discount offered on the item (nice touch).

If you wish to search for something in particular, you can also use the “Search” Feature. Or if you want to search for a particular brands or category, you can also do so.

Personally, I find that the information on each item is also very clear. For example, you can click on the item to see an enlarged version of it.

And if you need more details, you can scroll through the info. I like that they display the size of the item clearly. Take for example, a V Neck T-shirt. It actually let you know the dimension of the item (Chest x Length x Shoulder x Sleeve Opening x Sleeve Length x Hem) clearly.

On a final note, if you have browsed through the brands in Zalora, you will know why so many people are shopping on their site. There are over 500 brands and 15,000 items on it (based on the Press Release).

Overall, I like the app as it is very neat and has most of the features needed for a shopping app. BTW, there is one more information. In August, Zalora will also be launching a redesign of its mobile website. The new and improved site will also feature additional filters, a clear multi-step checkout, and social sharing. Check out the screenshots.
