After looking at so many types of insect robots, I think this 3D printed Octopod robot is the closest to the actual thing. The movement is fluid and life-like. It has 26 motors: 3 in each leg and 2 in the abdomen. It is powered by the Bigfoot Inverse Kinematics Engine which performs all of the necessary calculations for smoothly controlling the motions of the robot in real time.
The robot is sold at US$1,350 each. This is the pre-order price. Target to deliver in September 2013. BTW, apart from moving like a real spider, I am not sure what else it can do.
