Singapore (17 January, 2013) — The new Windows 8 10.1-inch ASUS VivoTab™ Smart detachable tablet will be available in Singapore from 18 January onwards at S$699 for the WiFi model. VivoTab Smart is perfect for work and display, at home or on-the-move. Thin and light with a high definition (HD) IPS display, VivoTab Smart features an Intel^® Atom™ dual-core processor for full compatibility with the new Windows 8 software, and an optional TranSleeve keyboard and cover that magnetically combines screen protection with a Bluetooth wireless keyboard for enhanced productivity. VivoTab Smart will be available in two colours – black and white. The TranSleeve keyboard will be sold separately at a later date.

Just 9.7mm thin and 580g light, VivoTab Smart has a 10.1-inch LED-backlit IPS display with a crisp 1366 x 768 HD resolution. IPS display technology delivers 178-degree wide viewing angles and ensures clear and bright images at every angle from VivoTab Smart. In addition, the detachable tablet features 5-point multi-touch for fluid fingertip control and touch experience with Windows 8.

With its Intel^® Atom™ Z2760 dual-core processor, VivoTab Smart delivers fast and responsive performance, while still providing up to 9.5 hours battery life on a single charge. VivoTab Smart gives complete peace of mind to users too, thanks to complete compatibility with both Windows 8 Store and desktop apps, along with plug and play support for a wide range of existing peripherals.

Optional accessories for ASUS VivoTab Smart

To further enhance users’ experience with the detachable tablet, the TranSleeve Vivo cover is magnetically attached to the bottom edge of the tablet with a strong Zinc alloy hinge. It features a durable microfiber interior and tough polyurethane exterior which offer protection for the tablet without adding significant weight to the device. When the detachable tablet is in use, the cover doubles as a flexible stand optimised for entertainment and productivity purposes.

Measuring only 5mm thick and weighing less than 300g, TranSleeve keyboard is a full QWERTY keyboard and touchpad that connects to VivoTab Smart via Bluetooth 3.0 for a precise and lag-free typing experience. The dedicated touchpad is incorporated with ASUS Smart Gesture Technology that is designed to detect all major Windows 8 control gestures. Furthermore, it consists of a 450mAh Li-polymer battery which can last for approximately three weeks on a single charge via its built-in microUSB charging port.

When using the VivoTab Smart together with the TranSleeve keyboard, users can position the TranSleeve keyboard and VivoTab Smart in the most comfortable position they deem fit, without compromise on wither viewing or typing experiences. Storing the keyboard is as simple as attaching it to the inside of the TranSleeve Vivo cover, as the keyboard features a small but strong magnet that holds it in place.
