1. iPad – The new iPad went on sale in Singapore on Friday
Singapore was among the first 10 countries to get hold of the new iPad, which saw crowds throng to buy the new gizmo. Singaporeans queued up as early as Thursday afternoon outside M1’s outlet at Paragon and were allowed in at the stroke of midnight.
2. KONY 2012 – Social campaign to promote movement for arrest of Joseph Kony, Ugandan war criminal
The social media campaign for the Lord’s Resistance Army leader and one of the world’s most wanted rebels was aimed at generating awareness and to petition his arrest. Kony 2012 film that was developed by Invisible Children, Inc. went viral with over 83 million views on video-sharing website, You Tube.
3. The Hunger Games – Much anticipated movie adaptation, world premiere last week
The Hunger Games, a science fiction action-drama film based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins debuted in cinemas on March 21. 4. North East Line – Service disruption on Thursday, SBS has apologized and investigating the cause
Thousands of commuters were affected by the service disruption experienced in the North East Line between Dhoby Ghaut and HarbourFront stations last Thursday. Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew, said SBS will do a “through check on the entire North East Line to see whether there are any other symptoms that may point towards other problematic areas along the line itself.”
