GM and Future Lab Present Interactive Rear Windows (Video)

GM (General Motors) has teamed up with Future Lab to work on WOO (Windows of Opportunity) project. The objective is quite simple. Make the rear passengers, particularly children, have a richer experience on the road.

Previously, if I did not see this, I will think that it is not easy to come up with something near what they have envisioned. The idea of getting the rear passengers to interact with the windows and at the same time, the information on the windows interact with the environment is pretty cool. Watch this video.

In the video, they demonstrated 4 apps: –

  • Otto, an animated character projected over passing scenery that responds to real-time car performance, weather and landscape. With Otto, passengers can learn about their environment in fun, playful ways.
  • Foofu, an app that allows passengers to create, explore and discover through finger drawing on window steam.
  • Spindow, an app that provides its users a peek into other users’ windows around the globe in real time.
  • Pond, an app that allows passengers to stream and share music with other cars on the road, downloads favorite tracks, and share messages with other passengers on the road.
