Google Search on Windows Phone has “Pin to Start” Page

Google Search is pinnable on your Windows Phone Tile now. You don’t find Google apps on Windows Phone Marketplace (except for a super basic Google Search). However, Google has come up with something cleverer.

Google website can recognize Windows Phone. Once detected, it will show a mobile site with “Pin Google to start screen”. Press on it, it will go to a blue screen with an arrow pointing to the select function. Once you select “pin to start”, it will appear with a Google logo on the start screen. Clever.

I have done it with trial and error. First, you have to set IE9 on your Windows Phone to mobile version (go to settings on IE9). Then exit from the program (it is better) and go to Google.com again. Refresh a few times and you “might” see the blue notice to ask you to Pin Google to Start screen. Good luck.
