I was invited by Singapore Haunted (R3Load Network) as a guest investigator in one of their Season 2 Episode. Being a gadget lover, they have many gadgets that you usually don’ see. Of course, I jumped to this chance.
These are the guys behind R3Load Singapore Haunted (from left, Mervyn, IZ, Noel, Jocelyn). They are having a brief on the location after our supper.
In this episode, we investigated the massacre of 66 Chinese by Japanese during the WWII period. In one of the Youtube video, it stated that Changi Beach is the most haunted place in the World. Can you believe it? Well, that’s where the Singapore Haunted team wanted to find out.
As a guest investigator, everything is new to me. First, a brief on the gadgets.
From the left: Magnetic Field Meter (Gauss Meter), Ghost Meter, K2 or KII EMF meter, infrared therometer.
Magnetic Field Meter (Gauss Meter)
Ghost Meter
K2 or KII EMF meter
Infrared therometer
These gadgets are the basics for any “Ghost Hunting”. I was given a rundown of each gadget. I like the K2/KII. It is the easiest to see the results of any paranormal activity as it relies on the light (from green (normal) to red). All these instruments do not need any warming up time.
I did a short video introducing the gadgets.
Of course, as a tech blogger, I brought my own “gears” too.
From Left: Windows Phone with Ghost Radar (Classic) App, iPad with Ghost Radar App, Xoom H5N audio recorder, walkie talkie.
What I did not show in this picture is my 150 White LED light, my Lumix LX-5, my Canon EOS 7D and my 130 lumen torch with white light. My objective for the night is to see if software app is “better” than those gadgets.
Our first “mission” is to locate the beach. Thanks to Google Maps, iPad, iPhones, we were able to locate it easily. Next, we sweep the Changi Beach for any “paranormal” activities using those gadgets. We located some deity statues from some Hindu religion. From my understanding, Changi Beach is popular among the Hindu religion and this is not uncommon.
Some of the gadgets in action.
Here is me holding on to the KII.
We also locate the information about the massacre of the Chinese on this beach. As you can see, this was put up by National Heritage Board.
I did my EVP (Electronic voice phenomena) session at Changi Beach with Jocelyn. Basically, we had the Night Vision camera mounted on a tripod pointing at us and using another infrared IR LED to shine on us.
And we laid our gears around us, hoping to get “something” by talking to “them”.
I shall not reveal the results as the team has yet to analyze the voice recording. After spending 2 to 3 hours in Changi, we decided to move to another location. We scouted around and ended up at XXXXXXXX (I think better to keep secret). It was super dark there. All the street lamps were off. I guess it is to discourage anyone to go up (yes, up a slope). Anyway, the place is prohibited to the public now. We spent some time on along the road.
Here is one of the picture of the building that I took along the road.
So, did I see anything or feel anything? I shall not reveal too much here. You can watch the episode later. Here is a screen grab from one of my video. As I mentioned, RED means “something”.
That is it. I was quite disappointed with the app on my iPad. As it needs warm up time to stabilize and analyze the environment using the sensors on the iPad, I could not bring it anywhere I like. And it takes a long time to warm up (based on the optimum settings that was recommended on their FAQ). Of course, it is also incorrect to dismiss the app as the objective is different. We moved around a lot and the app is not meant for that purpose.
For those who are super interested in such paranormal activites, you can watch Season 1 and Season 2 at R3load Network. I suggest you don’t watch them in the middle of the night.

and for gadgets lovers, below is the link to those gadgets that I mentioned. Do note that I don’t endorse these gadgets. The link is for your reference only.

Thanks to IZ, Noel and team for the invite. We spent from 10pm to 7:30am scouting Changi. It was fun!
