Newest multi-brand IT electronics concept store takes unconventional approach and brings new IT shopping experience to consumers
Singapore, September 16, 2011 – Step into Digital Style and get a brand new retail experience. @notebook.com, part of Newstead Technologies, today announced the launch of Digital Style, their first multi-brand electronics concept store that provides a comprehensive consumer-centric experience. This concept store at Funan DigitaLife Mall, #03-32 carries the complete range of consumer electronics products under six categories of Entertainment & Media, Gaming, Home Computing, Mobile Communications, Office & Professional and Ultra Mobile & Business.
Changing consumer behaviour
Unlike traditional IT retail outlets where consumers are greeted by products categorised by brands, this exuberant shopping destination takes an unconventional approach which injects new life into the IT shopping experience. Departing from the usual industry practice, products are thoughtfully categorised according to their functions and specifications, with the consumers’ needs in mind.
“With over 13 years of retail experience in Singapore, we recognise that consumers are buying differently today. For example, today’s consumers buy a laptop that match their preferred lifestyle needs such as gaming or mobility. We see the need to fill that gap in the market with a store like Digital Style, that is a purveyor of lifestyle IT products. Very simply, Digital Style is your personal shopper that helps pick up the best products that suits your lifestyle needs,” said Evelyn Chua, Business Development and Marketing Manager of Newstead Technologies.
Staffs of Digital Style are trained in the various product categories and are able to provide personalised advice.
Experiential retail
Experiential retail is another key component to the concept behind Digital Style. The store is specially designed to allow shoppers to easily try out products at the kiosk. Be it the latest speakers for music entertainment or new keyboards for gaming, shoppers are able to mix-and-match and plug-and-play the gadgets in-store.
The Gaming zone, for example features latest notebooks and desktops that sport powerful processors and superb graphics along with game controllers. The Office & Professional zone showcases various office productivity solutions while the Mobile Communications zone is packed with smart phones and cutting-edge tablets coupled with latest accessories to complete the entire experience.
“Consumers today are definitely more conversant with new technologies. Before going to the stores, they would have done their research on the features and specifications of products from a few brands. With Digital Style, they don’t have to go from shop to shop and can easily compare these products all in the same zone!” Evelyn adds.
Across its five lifestyle categories, Digital Style carries products from all major brands including Acer, Asus, Blackberry, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, HTC, Lenovo, Logitech, Microsoft, Motorola, Panasonic, Samsung, Toshiba and many more.
With the use of vibrant colours and a creative layout, Digital Style brings a fresh take on IT retail to consumers. Newstead Technologies plans to open another five Digital Style outlets islandwide in the next three years.
