Dell Reaffirms Commitment to the Gaming Community in Singapore

  • Addition of exciting new features to the revamped Alienware Arena portal
  • Featuring the biggest showcase of Alienware systems at The Games Xpo 2011

SINGAPORE, 7 Sept 2011 – Dell is reinforcing its growing commitment to the gaming scene in Singapore with the launch of its revamped Alienware Arena site, an online portal for the gaming community in Singapore and Malaysia.  In addition, the company will be featuring its biggest showcase of Alienware systems at The Games Xpo (TGX) 2011, the largest gaming event in Singapore.

Alienware Arena Shifts Into Hyperdrive

Launched in October 2010, Alienware Arena serves as a one-stop online gaming portal for gamers to interact, register for competitions, exchange information with fellow gamers, and learn new tips and tricks amongst many other features.

The revamped portal will now include core games and Battlegrounds to provide members with more in-depth information, opportunities to push their boundaries at gaming and a more holistic gaming experience.  The site will be launching League of Legends as its first core game and members can look forward to other games such as Dragon Nest and Starcraft II at a later date.

A new addition to the site, Battlegrounds, enables gamers to hone their skills with a series of regular, almost-daily localized game play for key games in Singapore and Malaysia.  Gamers can expect a highly competitive scene which will culminate into quarterly tournaments with attractive prizes.

“Dell recognizes the highly evolving and demanding needs of gamers across the ecosystem as they constantly look to improve their level of game play,” said Deepak Wagh, General Manager, Consumer and Small Business, Dell Singapore.  “We are committed to providing the best ecosystem – integrating online activities with physical tournaments – that allows gamers to thrive in a healthy, yet competitive environment.”

TGX 2011 Gains Alienware Level Up

Dell will be actively involved at the TGX 2011 tournament, with the biggest showcase of 200 units of Alienware systems.  Over 1,200 gamers will battle it out over four main competitions including the TGX Arena and WCG Singapore Qualifiers using the Alienware systems.

“Dell has always been a strong supporter of the gaming scene in Singapore and we are committed in delivering the best gaming system for enthusiasts,” said Deepak.  “Our Alienware systems are well known to provide high power and speed performance and we hope that these will help the competitors ‘pwn’ and win their games.”

Dell will also be partnering Garena at TGX 2011 to exhibit its Alienware line of products.  At the Garena carnival-like exhibit area, visitors can test out these Alienware systems and sign up as a member on the revamped Alienware Arena portal.  Visitors also have the opportunity to play games such as League of Legends, GoKart, BlackShot and Heroes of Newerth and walk away with one of ten sets of Alienware accessories, compromising a mouse, headset and keyboard, sponsored by Dell.

Singapore’s biggest gaming event to-date, TGX 2011, will be held from 9-11 September 2011 at the Singapore Expo and the event aims to attract over 120,000 gaming enthusiasts.
