Singapore Gets Jabra Stone2 in Black and White

Last year, I blogged about Jabra Stone2. Now, it is available in Singapore with the white version. I think it is quite cool to have such a nice design earpiece (if size is not a problem).

Here is the News Release.

Award-winning Jabra STONE2 catches “cool white” fever to add more style and aesthetics to performance

At S$198, Best of Innovations CES 2011 headset winner ‘talks’ for complete hands-free control

Singapore, 28 June 2011 – White hot on the heels of the much-awaited white iPhone4 in Asia, Jabra, a world leader in innovative headset and speakerphone solutions, now introduces the cool blanc version of the award-winning Jabra Stone2, the “Best of Innovations” Bluetooth headset winner at CES 2011[1].

Building on a revolutionary design, innovative engineering and a unique shape unmatched by any other headset in the worldwide market, Jabra STONE2 is now available in Singapore[2] — in black leather finish and in elegant, glossy white. Singapore is the first Asia-Pacific market to retail both black and white versions of this fascinating, stylish ‘stone’, with its curved, flexible headset and round, portable charger.

Jonathan Tang, Jabra APAC Managing Director commented, “Our in-market studies in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Japan show that white colour adds a certain aesthetic appeal to the mobile lifestyle. We’re thrilled to offer the choice of a white Jabra Stone2, in addition to the original black model. Jabra Stone2 is universally  compatible and works with any Bluetooth-enabled phone or devices, including iPhone4, iPad and iPad2.”

So how is Stone2 different from the original Jabra Stone? More power for sure in this 7g light and comfortable headset. Stone2 has two hours of battery life in the headset, and a further 8 hours of charging time in its charger, that is, a total of up to 10 hours talk time and up to 15 days standby time, all in the palm of your hand. The headset fit is further enhanced and personalized for different shaped and sized ears with a selection of four “comfort-tested” and ergo-designed ear gels.

To adjust for volume, use a fingertip sliding control over the smooth white (or black) surface to activate invisible touch sensors beneath. In between calls, with A2DP technology you can enjoy listening to music streaming wirelessly from your A2DP-enabled phone with greater clarity and at easy, healthy volume levels.

Voice-Control, just say “Answer” or “Ignore”

Taking the concept of hands-free communication to new levels, with Jabra Stone2’s innovative Voice-Control System, there’s no need to handle the headset to answer or reject a call. Simply use your voice to say “Answer” or “Ignore”.

At the same time, with Voice Control you can make outgoing calls simply by the sound of your voice, such as “Call Taxi” or “Call Honey”[3].

Voice Guidance tells you Caller’s Name

To find out who’s calling, there’s no need to pull out your phone to look at the display. Stone2’s Voice Guidance feature discreetly announces the name of the incoming caller into your ear. You can decide whether to take the call or not; simply say “answer” or “ignore”. The caller’s name you hear is exactly how you have programmed the caller into your phonebook, for example “Mum Cell” or “David Tan Work”. If the caller’s number isn’t saved or if your phone does not support PBAP[4] (phonebook access profile), then Voice Guidance reads out the phone number.

In addition, Voice Guidance provides audio alerts like “Connected”, so no guesswork required  whether Stone2 is paired with your mobile device, or “Low Battery” when the headset needs charging. It even “talks” you through an easy set-up process of pairing Stone2 to your phone or other Bluetooth-enabled multimedia devices. LED indicator lights are on-hand to offer visual cues: you can easily see how much battery charge is left by looking at how three green LEDs light up.
