Local Company Gajah Wins Awards in Computex Taipei

Good news from Computex in Taipei. A local company, Gajah International has been awarded five Computex Taipei design & innovation awards, as well as a Computex Best Design award, at this year’s Computex Taipei. More information after the break.

Local company steals the show at Asia’s largest computer exhibition, by winning multiple design and innovation awards

Singapore, 30th May –Singapore-based company Gajah International (“Gajah”) has been awarded five Computex Taipei design & innovation awards, as well as a Computex Best Design award, at this year’s Computex Taipei. The winning products are all from Gajah’s 2011 product line and are its eBook Readers (BK7004, BK7007), Video Memos (ViMo 1501, ViMo 1801), Portable Speakers (GD71) and ViMo 1801 was awarded the Computex Best Design award. Computex Taipei will be held from 31 May – 4 June and is Asia’s largest computer exhibition.

Building on its experience in designing and developing eBook Readers, Gajah will unveil another eBook reader, the BK7011, on the opening day of Computex Taipei 2011. “In the development of BK7011, our designers and engineers have challenged many pre-conceived notions that we have of eBook Readers. Its new form factor opens up many opportunities to re-think how we read and interact with eBook Readers. I think our user interface team has leveraged on this form factor to create an immersive reading experience.

Since last year’s Computex, we have directed 75% of our design and engineering resources to the development of this product”, said G-Jay Yong, Chief Executive Officer of Gajah.

Gajah has won many accolades since its inception. Earlier this year, Gajah received the iF Product Design Award 2011 (for its 6”eBook Reader), which is recognized internationally as a seal of design excellence. Gajah will be showcasing its new eBook readers along with these award winning products at the upcoming Computex Taipei 2011.

Gajah plans to introduce 20 new models in its eBook product line, mainly 6”, 7”and 9” eBook Readers, catering to various market segments. Amongst them are the award winning BK7004 and BK7007, which have book-inspired aesthetics and patented Bookmarc Flo and Marc Flo Touch Graphic User Interface (GUI), to deliver an unrivaled user experience. The entire eBook Reader line has received the Adobe DRM certification.

In another eBook Reader, BK7009, Gajah brings to the market a brand new reading experience. This eBook Reader has a simple design, with fine attention to details and a unique ambient User Interface (UI), which provides an ideal and enriching reading experience. BK7009’s proprietary UI brings a refreshing reading experience to the users. It emulates a real-life environment to give a cozy ambience that is ideal for reading. It embodies Gajah’s creative vision in combining hardware and software design.
