First Encounter With Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 Device

I was at a Dell Event and they have a few of the Dell Venue Pro lying around. Of course, I took the chance to take some pictures of them.

I guess the Dell Venue Pro will not be in Singapore soon. It was not announced during the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 launched in Singapore. I saw some news that it is exclusive to some telcos in the State. Anyway, I might be wrong.

The WP7 device, in my opinion, is a “either you love it or hate it” device. It has a massive 4.1-inch screen and a portrait keyboard, which is a first for Windows Phone 7 devices worldwide.

A close up of the keyboard.

Here is how it looks (at the back) when the QWERTY keyboard is slide down (or when you screen slides up, depending on how you look at it).

Notce that the Dell Venue Pro has nice wallpaper kind of design all over the phone. It makes the phone more attractive. Here is a picture of the back.

The back when the Qwerty keyboard is shown.

I do not have the specs with me but some of them are:-

  • 4.1-inch screen
  • 1 GHz Snapdragon processor
  • 512 MB RAM/1GB ROM
  • MicroSD Card expansion slot
  • 5 Megapixel camera with flash
  • Portrait QWERTY keyboard
  • Scratch Resistance screen

We had a short demo on the Scratch Resistance Screen.

The side of the Venue Pro is glossy silver and a finger print magnet.

Here are the top and bottom shots.

After handling the device for a few minutes, I think it is very solid but a little thick (I guess for devices with keyboard, this is a trade-off). I love the screen and even more as it is scratch resistance.

Too short for me to conclude anything. Enjoy this pics.
