Singapore, 17 September 2010 – Panasonic Systems Asia Pacific today announced the availability of three new Toughbook® notebooks, the CF-F9, CF-C1 and CF-S9. The latest in the Toughbook® business-rugged series, these models enable highly mobile professionals to benefit from the brand’s legendary reliability. No matter where work may be, the new Toughbook® models keep up and keep users connected.
The Toughbook® business laptops combine a high performance Intel processor with industry-leading light weight, long battery life, mobile connectivity and unrivaled reliability to deliver a best-in-class mobile computing solution. The new Toughbook® models sport slim-line and clean designs, maintaining its toughness without looking the part.

Top-class lightness
The new Panasonic Toughbook® business laptops boasts some of the world’s lightest laptops, made possible by the thin award-winning magnesium alloy body, thin LCD glass, and a lightweight Shell Drive unit that integrates the drive and body. The Shell Drive used in the Toughbook® is more than 75% lighter than conventional models, reducing weight and increasing ruggedness and space-saving.
Business-Rugged Reliability
Unique to Panasonic, the Toughbook® has been designed to endure drops, bumps and spills. In order to withstand the demands of a highly mobile work environment, the Toughbook® can withstand drops from heights of up to 76cm[1] due to the magnesium-alloy casing and the use of special damping materials around the hard drive. Both the lid and base of the notebook are designed to withstand 100 kg of pressure. The Toughbook® also features a spill-resistant keyboard design that protects against liquid spills of about 200ml.
High Performance and security
The Toughbook® runs the latest Centrino Intel® Core™ mobile computing platform with Dynamic Power Performance Management Technology jointly designed with Intel. This enables the laptop to minimize power consumption and heat output while maximizing performance. The superior Panasonic Hybrid Cooling System keeps the laptop cool without sacrificing light weight and extends battery life. The Toughbook® has Intel Anti-theft and vPro technologies to improve hardware-assisted security and manageability capabilities that enhance IT’s ability to maintain, manage, discover, heal and protect networked computing assets. This includes a Built-in Security Chip (TPM) that contains an encryption key for security and privacy protection, preventing unauthorized access to valuable and important information as a result of theft or loss of the hard disk.
Toughbook® CF-S9 – World’s Lightest 12” Laptop with Built-In Optical Drive and the Longest Battery Life of 11 Hours
Designed and built for the busy business executive, the Toughbook® CF-S9 is the world’s lightest 12” laptop, weighing a mere 1.37kg. It is compact and can be carried around with ease, while retaining the legendary “toughness” for maximum defense against downtime. Featuring the Intel® Core i5- 520M vPro processor, (2.40GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz, Intel® Smart Cache 3MB), 2GB DDR3 SD-RAM and 320 GB HDD, the Toughbook® CF-S9 can run for up to 11 hours on a single charge.
Toughbook® F9 – World’s Lightest 14” Class Laptop
The thin and light Toughbook® F9 is Panasonic’s latest business-rugged laptop. The new device weighs in at a mere 1.6kg, making it the industry’s lightest 14” class laptop. The Toughbook® F9 features an Intel Core i5 processor, 320 GB HDD, high resolution (1440 x 990) widescreen display with LED backlighting and an integrated handle. Toughbook® C1 – World’s Lightest 12.1” Convertible Tablet PC

Innovative Design
The Toughbook® C1 is one of the first laptops to support multi-touch and digitizers, offering the input of a finger, gesture or an electronic stylus pen for handwriting recognition and greater precision.
