- yog road closure – Several roads around Singapore have been temporarily closed throughout the duration of the YOG to facilitate sporting events such as the cycling competitions.
- yog flame – After touring five continents starting in Greece, the YOG flame arrived in Singapore on 6 August where it completed a six-day round-island torch relay before lighting up the cauldron to launch the Games at the opening ceremony on 14 August.
- rainer ng – Singaporean athlete Rainer Ng clinched the country’s first silver medal when he won the 50 meter backstroke event in the swimming finals.
- yog village – The YOG Village set up at Nanyang Technological University is currently home to over 5,000 local and foreign athletes and team officials till 26 August.
- watch yog online – People who did not manage to buy tickets to YOG events are not just tung in on their TV sets, but also heading online to catch the Games live at http://www.youtholympicgames.org/.
