I think Justin Bieber might have gone a little to far to abuse his celebrity status by tweeting someone’s phone number (and assuming it was his) to his 4.5 million followers. Of course, not entirely his fault if you know the reason why he do that.
According to Mashable, a teen by the name of Kevin Kristopik hacked into Justin Bieber’s friend, Ryan Butler’s Twitter account and found Justin Bieber’s phone number. Kevin then text Justin Bieber (not sure what was his text content).
A few weeks ago, Kevin tweeted “im the one who hacked ryan and got justins #.” I guess he was “kind” enough not to publish Justin Bieber’s number.
After knowing that his friend’s Twitter account being hacked by Kevin, JB uses the same media (Twitter) to get back at him. JB tweeted an innocent message “everyone call me [number] or text”. Of course, the number is not his. It is Kevin Kristopik’s number and that is where hell break loose.
Although Justin Bieber deleted the tweet shortly after, the harm was done. The tweet was retweeted to many and Kevin was reported to receive 26,000 text messages and if you watch the video, the phone never stop ringing.
That, I must say is the power of Twitter and of course, the fame of Justin Bieber. What do you think? Who is at fault?
