IAC Tweet Meet on 26th June, Have You Signed Up?

IAC (Infocomm Accessibility Centre) is organizing a Tweet Meet this coming 26th June 2010. The event will be held at SMU Campus Green. Early birds who signed up for the Tweet Meet will get a picnic basket. I have been to IAC for a tour. Click here to find out more about IAC.

This slogan (see picture above) speaks for itself about IAC commitment to the society.

“Empower People with Disabilities with IT Skills”

In this society, I think it is very important to have IT Skills. Most of the things today are IT related. For people with disabilities, this will even be a greater challenge. That is why IAC comes into the picture. With their centre, it provides a one-stop experience to let people with disabilities to learn a skill and also to be able to cope with their daily life.

Here is a music sample of one of their students, Gerald Bartholomew, a graduate of IAC.

Help to spread the words. If you know someone with disabilities, you can dominate him/her to the many IT courses at Infocomm Accessibility Centre (IAC).

Or if you think you need to know more, join us at Tweet Meet on the 26th June from 4pm to 6pm. It will be fun to know the people from IAC and also volunteers, bloggers, twitters, people with disabilities, graduates of IAC who are willing to share with you their experiences with IAC.

I remembered during my tour at IAC, we talked about how difficult it is to master some of the tools needed for disabilities in their daily life. However, without this tools, they will not be able to enjoy simple things like surfing the Internet and etc.

And when we were briefed about courses, in my heart, I was thinking that I am not able to do half of what they have done.
