Smokescreen Let You Watch Flash in Javascript

If you own an iPad and you like to watch Flash content, I don’t think Apple will make it happen. However, with Smokescreen plugin, it converts Flash to Javascript instantly, making those flash website viewable on an iPad.

The good people who make the Smokescreen plugin is making it open source.  That means that there might be a lot of new innovation in future.

How it works?

It runs entirely in the browser, reads in SWF binaries, unzips them (in native JS), extracts images and embedded audio and turns them in to base64 encoded data:uris, then stitches the vector graphics back together as animated SVG.

That means it might be heavy and slow for websites that are rich with flash. There are demos on the site itself. Watch the demo video on the site itself.

So, what do you think? Do you think this will work or will it cause a drop in user experience?
