HTC provided me a HTC HD Mini review set for a few days. I am extremely excited as this phone is touted as the mini version of HTC HD2. Of course, as I owned a HTC HD2, it is naturally for me to compare it. So, get ready for me to talk about HTC HD Mini with HD2 as a reference. BTW, in this post, I will be showing you the unboxing and first look of this device.
The HTC HD Mini has no physical button, only touch screen buttons. And it doesn’t conform to Windows Phone 7 requirement (in short, forget about upgrading to WinPho 7 with this device).
At the back of the phone it has the 5 MegaPixels camera but without any flash.
A close up of the camera
I hate those screws. They are not nice, in my opinion. They doesn’t make the phone look rugged or stylish.
On the top, it has a power on/off button
At the bottom, it has the usual Micro USB port and a reset pinhole.
On one side, it has the volume up/down button. On the other side, it is clean.
And when you open up the cover, which needs some practice, you will see a different HTC
The layout is nice. However, I can’t find any SIM card direction on it.
Here is another view. I wonder if water will seep in through those screws holes or not (as there is no o-ring on them).
Here is the view of the back with the battery removed.
The battery is 1200mAh and in yellow color. Nice!
And I know everyone will be curious to know how big or mini the HTC HD Mini is. So, here is the comparison with HTC HD2, HTC Legend and the HTC HD Mini itself.
The back.
The HD2 still looks the slim in this comparison
Comparing with HTC HD2 (face to face)
And here is my short video of unboxing, first look and power on of the HTC HD Mini.
If you have any questions on HTC HD Mini, let me know fast (in the comments). I will check it out and let you know. I will only be only on to this unit for a few days.
