I was glad that HTC provided me with 2 latest phones for me to review. One of them is the HTC HD Mini and the other is the HTC Legend. I will be talking about HTC Legend in this post. HTC Legend will be available to Singapore from early April 2010. Just a few days ago, I posted the Press Release. HTC Legend is an Android phone with the latest Android OS 2.1 and a new HTC Sense UI.
The Legend Chassis is craft out of a single aluminum. It has very nice finishing and looks sleek.
The top part of the phone has a power on/off button and a earpiece jack (standard 3.5mm)
The bottom part consists of a Micro USB Port and a reset button.
The left hand side of the phone consists of the volume up/down.
On the right side, it has nothing on it.
Notice that the chin is still there (same as Hero but slightly lesser curve). However, instead of a trackball, it now houses an optical joystick.
On the back, it has a 5 MegaPixels camera with flash.
And at the bottom, HTC has reinvent how the battery should be housed and how the SIM card and MicroSD card could be stored.
The bottom could be easily open and once the latch is open, it will expose the battery, SIM Card and the MicroSD Card slots. One good thing about the design is that the SIM Card or MicroSD card can be replaced easily without taking out the battery.
However, I noticed that the plastic latch is not that robust. I wonder how the condition would be over a long period of time. But then again, you don’t usually need to take out the battery.
Here is the battery sliding out.
A close up of the SIM card and MicroSD card slots.
I did not take the pictures of those accessories as it seems to be similar to any HTC phone.
Finally, a close look at the battery.
Here is the video of the unboxing and first look.
