Introducing Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010
Kaspersky ups the ante with its security solutions’ cutting-edge and user-friendly technologies

Singapore – 25 August 2009 – Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content-management solutions, is proud to unveil its latest suite of security solutions for PC end users – Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010.

Successors to the 2009 products, which already garnered recognition from millions of users worldwide for their efficiency and reliability in hundreds of comparative tests, the Kaspersky 2010 suite is expected to become a range of market-leading solutions in the global content-management security arena once again.

“Kaspersky Lab’s new version 2010 products incorporate advantages such as the advanced Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) technology that assigns security ratings to previously unknown malware and unique Sandbox virtualisation technology that provides dedicated secure-runtime environment for any software.  Additionally, the products leverage the innovative Kaspersky Security Network that uses information from millions of users to dramatically reduce response time to new threats and replenish reputation databases with the most up-to-date information about clean and infected files,” said Gun Suk Ling, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab for Southeast Asia.

“Based on the premise that prevention is always more effective than a cure, the new range of products employs Kaspersky Lab’s improved anti-virus engine that is highly effective at detecting malicious programmes.  This is particularly important given that tens of thousands of new malicious programmes appear worldwide on a daily basis,” said Eugene Kaspersky, Kaspersky Lab CEO and Co-founder.

“The topography of the software-security landscape is an ever-changing one.  Cybercriminals are more rampant than ever and are turning cybercrime into a multimillion dollar industry.  Every day, tens of thousands of new worms, Trojans and viruses are created and distributed in a vast network housed by computers of unwary users.  Revolutionising IT security is absolutely paramount.  And thankfully, Kaspersky Lab is here to change that game,” Gun added.

Kaspersky Lab has implemented a revolutionary approach to protection by monitoring and identifying malicious activities globally.  This is possible with the innovative Kaspersky Security Network (KSN), which sources information on new malware from millions of participating Kaspersky Lab personal users. Using the increasingly popular in-the-cloud security concept, the version 2010 range uses the KSN-furnished malware and virus database to quickly scan and identify threats online, rather than doing so on end users’ computers.  As a result, Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 takes less than 40 seconds to identify previously unknown malicious programmes and prevent them from infecting the end user.

It has been statistically proven that hackers often exploit vulnerabilities in the operating system and trusted applications that make use of the Internet to harm computers.  The Kaspersky 2010 product range subjects all unknown applications to rigorous analysis to ensure that users’ PCs are protected from IT threats.

Furthermore, with Kaspersky’s 2010 products’ new safe-run function – based on the latest Sandbox technology – users are able to run new applications in an isolated environment without subjecting their operating systems to malicious changes.  The safe-run function also makes surfing the Internet on any web browser a safer and fuss-free experience, whilst allowing multiple applications to run simultaneously.  The green border that will appear around protected application windows will also give users the comfort of knowing that their devices are free from further harm.

The Kaspersky version 2010 products are also better able to protect confidential data.  The new generation products will automatically block the unwary users’ access to known phishing sites and block spyware to prevent password and access code theft.

In fact, Kaspersky Lab’s products are always developed with the end user in mind.  For one, the version 2010 products boast a slick new interface that is designed to be more user-friendly.  With this new overhaul, users will also have the option of allowing Kaspersky’s products to run in the background without being prompted with unnecessary requests for action.

“To summarise, Kaspersky’s version 2010 products are faster, more efficient, more user-friendly and provide the highest level of protection possible against cybercriminal activities, without compromising performance.  The new products use fewer computer resources. Our aim is to ensure that all types of computer users enjoy a safer place on the Internet.  Thanks to Kaspersky’s 2010 products, our mission is nearly accomplished,” Gun concluded.
