I was invited to Kaspersky Product Launch Event today (25th August 2009). They were launching 3 products, namely the Kaspersky Anti-Virus (KAV) 2010, Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) 2010 and Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.0 (KMS8). This event is for the media and bloggers and it was held at Eski Bar at Circular Road.
It was a surprise to me that Jackie Chan endorsed a Anti-Virus product and the whole place was filled with his poster and that of the founder, Eugene Kaspersky.
Kaspersky Lab is originated from Russia and it has now over 250 million users. In the following weeks, months, there will be a lot of activities to promote Kaspersky products. There will be TV commercial too!

The event started at 6pm with registration and mingling around with the rest of the people. The place is nice and cosy.
We were supplied with food and drinks to make us ready for the event. 🙂
Here are some close ups of the food.
The event started with Kinjal providing the highlights of tonight.
The first speaker is the Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab, Southeast Asia, Ms Gun Suk Ling. She provided the history of the Kaspersky and also the theme that Kaspersky is adopting this year “The Green Zone”. So, you can see that everything is GREEN tonight. Inclusive of the hair of the waiter and waitresses, plus bartender.
Kaspersky Lab has an unique way to introduce their product. Watch this breakdance video below.
We were also shown the packaging of the new products.
This is the Limited Edition packaging that has Jackie Chan and Eugene Kaspersky on it.
Of course, she explained to us why we should choose Kaspersky. Do you guys agree?
BTW, the Kaspersky products are available now at Retail Outlets. If you want, you can go to their Internet Store. Pricing will be shown at the end of this post (for easy reference).

Up next, the Product Manager, Mr. Alex Ng. He talked to us about the innovation used on the latest Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Internet Security.
Below are some self explanary screenshots.
I think the interesting highlights of the Kaspersky products are: –
- Rescue CD
- “Sandbox” to safe run your programs
I have not used Kaspersky before. So, I reserve my comments until I tested it.

The next speaker is Victor Dronov, the Product Manager of Kaspersky Lab, Moscow Headquarters.
This topic is one of the main highlights of the event. He talks about Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.0 which I guess most big players are not promoting.
Here is a simple diagram of Smartphone threat. Theft or Loss, Lost Data, Mobile Malware and SMS Spam.
As you can see from the screen shot below, you are able to protect your SMSes.
Finally, a nice summary of what the Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.0 can do. Just for your information, currently, KMS8 only supports a few format of Smartphone. They are Symbian OS 9.1, 9.2? 9.3 Series 60 or Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.0, 6.1 operating systems. iPhone, Blackberrys, Sony Ericsson and Google Android will have to wait.

The last part of the program is talking about the Social Network that Kaspersky has built. Suk Ling introduced us to the KKlub. It is a friend or fan club where many activities (related to Kaspersky, obviously) can be done or shared.

Here are some of the objectives that Kaspersky hopes to achieve at KKlub.

Also, nearer to date, there will be a Press Conference on the Kaspersky Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition on the 15th September 2009 at Vivocity, National Geographic Store.
