Twitter is in the limelight for the wrong reason again. This time, a researcher studying the previous attack that causes Twitter to be put offline (DOS) discovered a security flaw that allows a twitter account to send data to PCs. These data are actually commands (or botnets) to allow the PCs to visit malicious Web sites, where they download programs that steal banking passwords. It seems that the infected PCs are mostly in Brazil.
According to the report, the Twitter account was taken down and Twitter has yet to respond to questions. And this type of hack is not sophisticated. However, it does post a doubt on how safe our Twitter account is. So, remember not to reveal your username and password to any API services. If you have done so, quickly change your passwords.
