HTC Singapore Response to HTC Windows Mobile Smartphones Vulnerable to Hacking via Bluetooth

After reading about the potential risk (but not confirmed) on HTC Windows Mobile Smartphone being hacked via Bluetooth FTP service, I wrote a mail to HTC Singapore requesting about it. I am glad that they responded to my mail and I must say I did not do my homework. They have actually had a patch update on the 15th July 2009 regarding a security risk on the Bluetooth FTP Service.

On the HTC Website, it states this:

htc_bluetooth_fix

Hotfix to enhance the security mechanism of Bluetooth FTP service for HTC Touch Diamond/Touch Pro/Touch HD

and describes it as: –

This hotfix can enhance the security mechanisms of the Bluetooth FTP service.

Hey, seems like HTC is listening too!

When you select the file, you can choose the location closest to you. I have check the HTC WWW website. It also has this fix. It means that it also caters for the rest of the world and not just Singapore or South East Asia only.

Thanks to HTC Jessica, Melvin for the response! 🙂
