Google introduces a new app to Windows Mobile device. It is suppose to give users a faster search on mobile devices. Truthfully speaking, is this another way that Google is trying to get back at Yahoo! Search?
I have installed into my Touch HD. Of course, as HTC THD has TouchFLO3D running, you will not be able to see on the today screen. However, it can still function normally through the program files.
One thing to take note, at this moment, Mobile App from Google only supports a few countries (but that doesn’t mean you cannot install). These countries are: – US, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany.
Installing is easy:
- Go to http://m.google.com/search from your mobile Internet Explorer.
- Click Install. It will prompt you to save the file or just open it.
- After that, it will automatically install the application to MAIN MEMORY (no prompt).
- That’s it. It is installed.
- For the first time, you will be prompt to enter the country. Singapore is not listed (as stated above). I chose United States.
- Accept the terms and conditions (Please read it carefully) and you are ready to use.
- Read the help in the Menu. It will clear all your doubts.

By pressing the “+” at the top right corner, you can expand the view to see more options like Google Maps and other applications. They are like a launcher for Google products.
