HTC Touch 3G Review – Opera Browser and Conclusion – Video Within

Today is my last day to play with the HTC touch 3G before returning it to HTC. In my last installment of this review, I will touch on the Opera Browser.

First impression of the Opera Browser is “Impressive” as compared to the Microsoft Mobile Internet Explorer. Actually, there are many other mobile Browser that is superior than the Internet Explorer provided with Windows Mobile OS.

Likes

  • Act and feels like a full browser
  • The Touch 3G touch screen is very smooth. You can drag and pull the pages without any lag.
  • There is Tab function (up to 3 tab pages)
  • You can change the browser in mobile or full version.

Dislike

  • When you click on a link, you do not know if you have click on it or not. No indication
  • The Touch 3G does not incorporate a landscape mode button.
  • The Touch 3G is to small to view with comfort.

HTC  Touch 3G Review Conclusion

I have only used the HTC Touch 3G for 2 weeks and I must say that I am quite impressive by HTC on the performance. I find that as compared to previous HTC phone, it is a big improvement to the overall performance and the TouchFlo did not fail me. I did not turn off the TouchFlo. It really makes the Windows Mobile OS feels more “expensive” and exclusive.

I do not need to go beyond the TouchFlo software for my basic needs. However, having said that, I believe many people would disagree. For my review, I focus on the ease of usage rather the technicality of the phone. Personally, I would not buy this phone as it does not satisfy my needs. I prefer more “powerful” specifications to play with. However, in the point of view as a basic user, it is more than enough.

I actually let many people go through this phone to get their opinion. Many are satisfied with it. Some even wanted to buy it immediately. Some are put off that although it is called Touch 3G, it did not have a secondary camera for Video Call.

Therefore, I strongly recommend this phone for basic to intermediate user who wish to have a PDA phone that is slim in size and who does not want to meddle with the software that is already provided.

  • Design: 3.5 out of 5
  • Ease of Use: 4 out of 5
