Just a while ago, HP showed us a short clip on their latest Slate. Now, someone actually leaked out their internal comparison chart between the Slate and the iPad. Obviously, Slate is here to battle iPad. However, the specs leave me to wonder if there is a real fight or not.
The Slate will have: –
- Processor: Intel Atom 1.6 GHz Z530
- Graphics: Intel UMA, graphics for 1080p playback.
- Storage: 32GB/64GB Flash
- RAM: 1 GB (I think it is a little to low, especially it is not customer upgradeable. But does it means it can be upgraded by HP?)
- Connectivity: Wireless B/G and optional 3G modem (Where is my Wireless N?)
- Port: 1 USB, SD card reader, Dock port, 3G SIM Card Slot, 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack
- Weight: 0.67kg
- Dimension: 150mm X 234mm X 14.7mm (thicker than iPad)
- Battery: 5 hours (I guess this is too short)
- OS: Windows 7 Home Premium + HP touch optimized UI
- Pricing: US$549 – US$599
So, what is your feel about this Slate? I am not impressed.
