Christmas Gift Idea: Belkin Power Bank with Lightning Connector

I am sure many of you own power banks to charge your devices. Most Apple iPhone/iPad users might agree that there are limited choices (or none at all) to have a power bank with Lightning Connector.

Most power banks comes with Micro-USB connector (most common). So, commonly, for iPhone/iPad users, you will need to bring additional cable to charge up the power bank.

With Belkin’s BOOST↑CHARGE™ Power Bank, it comes with the Lightning Connector port. You will need just a single cable to charge your phone or the power bank.

Thanks to Belkin, I had the chance to test out the Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE™ Power Bank a few months ago. The review unit I had is a 10,000mAh white color model. Belkin also has a 5,000mAh version.

Here are the specs for both models: –

BOOST↑CHARGE™ Power Bank 10K with Lightning Connector Specs:

  • MFi-certified power bank to recharge via Lightning connector
  • One cable recharges iPhone/iPad and power bank
  • 10,000 mAh provides 70 extra hours battery life
  • 2 x USB-A ports (3.4A total) quickly charge iPhone and a 2nd device
  • 2.4A Lightning input quickly recharges power bank
  • 4 LED lights show charge statu

BOOST↑CHARGE™ Power Bank 5K with Lightning Connector Specs:

  • MFi-certified power bank to recharge via Lightning connector
  • One cable recharges iPhone/iPad and power bank
  • 5,000 mAh provides 35 extra hours battery life
  • 2 x USB-A ports (3.4A total) quickly charge iPhone and a 2nd device
  • 2.4A Lightning input quickly recharges power bank
  • 4 LED lights show charge status

Here are some pictures on the Belkin Power Bank.

It has a minimalist design. On its front, it has one button and 4 LEDs. The button is to check the battery status (via the 4 LEDs).

4 LEDs light up when fully charged.

Here are the ports – Left: 2.4A output, Center: Lightning Port for charging, Right: 1A output.

Here is a picture showing the very faint writings about the spec of each port.

There isn’t many things to review the Belkin’s BOOST↑CHARGE™ Power Bank. I trust Belkin’s products. This power bank does what it does – to support your devices when they are low on battery.

Charging up the power bank (after it is depleted) will take some time (depending on the battery size) although it is using a 2.4A input.

Some may disagree with Belkin that it is a good idea to use a single cable for charging phone and power bank for the fact that if you have just one cable, it is either you charge your phone or your power bank (and not both).

Personally, I always carry 3 phones (2 with USB-C and one with Lightning Port). So, I actually have no problem with it.

Anyway, I am sure that if you are an Apple user, you will have more than one Lightning cable.

Price and Availability

The BOOST↑CHARGE™ Power Bank with Lightning Connector is priced at S$69 for the 5,000mAh variant, and at S$99 for the 10,000mAh variant.

Both versions of the product are now available for retail in Singapore, online at Lazada, Shopee and Hachi.tech, and in-store at Challenger, Harvey Norman, Best Denki, iStudio, Epicentre, and Analogue+.

Summary

Love the built quality of this battery. Wish that it could be slimmer. Price-wise, it is steep, considering that there are so many power bank options out there.
