Instagram introduces Instagram Stories. Some or most users should be getting it now. The idea of Instagram Stories is to let you share moments in your day. Unlike Instagram post, Instagram Stories will disappear after 24 hours.
Instagram Stories will appear on the top of your Instagram feed. So, profile of friends who posted on Instagram Stories will appear on top. You can click on them to see their stories. It seems like Instagram wants you to post more pictures or videos. Not those curated and edited ones but those that are spontaneous and sometimes “unglam” pictures or videos.
This may seem like an innovative idea except that Snapchat already has it. You cannot shake away the image that Instagram is copying Snapchat in a bad way (at the moment).
Like Snapchat, you can take pictures and videos and post immediately on Instagram Stories. Friends can see them. The content will disappear after 24 hours. You can add TEXT or draw onto the pictures or video before posting.
Unlike Snapchat, there is no attractive or interesting filters for you to apply onto your photo or video. This is no emoticons (you can personalize them too) that can follow you around in your video. There is no location filters tell your friends where you were.
Of course, this is just a beginning for Instagram. They may come out with more ideas on Instagram Stories later (hopefully, more innovative ones).
What is your take? Will you stop using Snapchat and use Instagram Stories instead?
For now, I am enjoying Snapchat because of the interesting filters and stories from Daily Mail, Buzzfeed, Mashable and etc.
