As part of the SG50 celebration (I think it is the most overused word), Singapore Power (SP) is going to install 200 charging stations across the island. These charging stations, as the name implies, can be used to charge your devices. As you may know, battery “juices” are the most important to some people. With these stations at strategic locations, I am sure many will welcome them. Some are already in place and more will be installed.

As of now, there are 25 that are up and running (based on the map). All units are expected to be in place by December this year. Although the idea is not new, the way the user can access the unit is interesting. For a start, you will need to have an NRIC, Driving License, Student Pass, Senior Citizen Concession Pass to activate it, Once activated, you will need to generate a 4 digit unique access code.
- Step 1: Scan your identity document and select a 4-digit personal identification number.
- Step 2: Select a locker and connect your device
- Step 3: Collect your device one it’s charged
It can charge most smart devices. There is also an additional USB port for you to plug in your cable to charge your devices. As I have yet to see them, no comment at the moment.
