ASUS announces the thin ASUS ZenWatch running on Android Wear

If you have noticed, there are now a couple of Android Wear watches. This is expected since wearables are the new trend. Many are version 1. They seems to be bulky or without outstanding features, which can only mean that future products will be better.

However, if you look at ASUS ZenWatch, you can see the effort put into the device. It is thin, runs on Android Wear with ASUS ZenUI user interface. It packs a couple of other features not found on other Android Wear devices.

Of course, it is too early to judge. For example, I am interested in the battery life and the overall feel of the product. In the mean while, here are the features of the ASUS ZenWatch (copied from the Official Website).

Heard that it might cost less than USD300 (approx USD260) when it is available in Q4 this year but since these are not the official information, don’t think too much over them.

ASUS ZenWatch Announced at IFA 2014

First ASUS wearable device powered by Android Wear unveiled, along with innovative and stylish new additions to the Zenbook, EeeBook and MeMO Pad families

Berlin, Germany (3rd September, 2014) — ASUS Corporate Vice President Eric Chen, accompanied by ASUS Design Center Vice President Mitch Yang and ASUS Senior Product Director Derek Yu, today went on stage at a pre-IFA 2014 event held at the Classic Remise to announce the company’s latest lineup of innovations, including ASUS ZenWatch, the company’s first wearable device produced in partnership with Google.
