While the world is speculating when we can get the next generation iPad, I came across this SEMICON Singapore website that is promoting an early bird registration with iPad 3 (and others) as prize.

This might be the first time some organization is naming the next gen iPad as what we always have been speculating. With the rumors stating the first week of March as announcement of iPad 3 and the fact that this SEMICON Singapore is from 24th to 26th April 2012, it seems logical.

However, this may just be an gimmick to get people to sign up. I just wonder why they use the name iPad 3 and not next generation iPad (unless they are very confident).

Anyway, here is a alleged picture of iPad 3 (from TNW) compared with iPad 2. It seems to be of the same size.

But that does not mean that it will be the “real” iPad3 as WSJ has mentioned that Apple is testing out a 8-inch tablet. There are other news that mentions an A6 chip and LTE support for the future iPad. Right now, nothing is believable. We shall wait for the official announcement then.
