Microsoft WordPress Kit Converts Your Blog into Windows Phone App

Microsoft knows the importance of apps for Windows Phone OS. Now, they introduce this Windows Phone Starter Kit for WordPress to allow any WordPress blog to turn into a Windows Phone app.

Based on the information, it looks simple to “convert” the blog to an app. You will need to update the file with your URL (with Visual Studio). Then you will need to install a plugin to the blog. Here is the installation instruction from the site.

Installation

To customize the Starter Kit, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the MainPage.xaml.cs file in Visual Studio
  2. Update the siteURL parameter to the location of your WordPress blog

To install the WordPress Plugin

  1. Log into your WordPress blog using an account that has administrative access
  2. Click on the “Plugins” link from the navigation bar on the Dashboard
  3. Click on the “Add New” button on the Plugins page
  4. Select the “Upload” link from those choices presented on the Plugins page
  5. Click the browse button and navigate to the location of the WPSKPlugin.zip (usually <project folder>\WordPressPlugin\WPSKPlugin.zip
  6. Click the “Install Now” button to perform the upload.

On a side note, I hope that the Marketplace will not be filled with poor apps and etc. I can already see many apps that are really poor in quality. Hopefully, this will not add more into it.
