RIM Announces New Music Store to BlackBerry PlayBook Users in Singapore

New music store brings nine million+ tracks to
BlackBerry PlayBook users in Singapore

Singapore, 11 August 2011 – Research In Motion (RIM) and 7digital have teamed up to bring over nine million tracks to BlackBerry® PlayBook™ users in Singapore through a new Music Store app.

The app, which is part of the latest free software update for the BlackBerry® Tablet™ OS (v 1.0.7), allows music fans to search for songs, albums and artists as well as preview tracks before making a purchase. Customers also have the option to discover and download new music through 7digital’s recommendation feature that highlights tracks from the eclectic catalogue of high-quality (320kbps) MP3s.

“The Music Store app is a perfect fit for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet’s high-performance multimedia features, providing users in Singapore with fast searches and downloads, and a slick interface that makes it very easy to discover, preview, purchase and enjoy music,” said Gregory Wade, Regional Managing Director, East Asia at RIM.

The new Music Store app for the BlackBerry PlayBook is part of the latest free software update that is now available for all BlackBerry PlayBook users to download in Singapore. To update the OS, users can simply select ‘Check for Updates’ from the Software Updates screen on their BlackBerry PlayBook and follow the instructions.
