Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Coming This Week?

A few days ago, the news leaked out that Windows 7 Service Pack 1 will be released on 15th January 2011. However, other sites are saying that Microsoft has never done a Service Pack release during the weekend. I waited until today to see if there is really a SP1 for Windows 7.

The initial news came from a person, Alex Kibkalo, who is not authorized to speak about releases. This person mentioned that the first service pack (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 would air to OEMs on 15th January with build string 7601.17514.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850.

So, 15th comes and goes without the upgrade. And today, I saw that the blog entry (translated) has updated with some comments from Microsoft.

Microsoft has not released SP1 to OEMs at this time, though we are on track for a Q1 release, as we previously announced. The comments made in this blog entry included some inaccuracies.

So, is Windows 7 SP1 coming this week? Seems like a NO to me.
