It has almost been a year when HTC launches the YOU campaign with Flash Mob and Tattoo. This year, HTC celebrates a new campaign, ME and of course, the latest handset that will hit Singapore from 10th July, Wildfire.
I was glad to be invited to this event at Zirca Club in Clarke Quay. The event was supposed to start at 7 pm but it seems forever to get inside.
The queue become longer as the time past.
Finally, we were inside.
The decor was quite nicely done with a touch of HTC.
The event began with FM 98.7 Mister Young giving us a warm welcome.
It was followed by the performance from Urban Drum Crew. I like the expression of them in this picture below.
Here is another one.
Rozz (Rosalyn Lee) joined in later as she ends her show only at 8pm.
Apart from the Wildfire, the highlights of the night is MeRadio, showcase of Android Apps from Republic Polytechnic and also prize giving of winners to HTC contest.
MeRadio app on Android is by MediaCorp and exclusively to HTC Wildfire, Desire, Legend and Hero users that has Android 2.1 and above. The app can be downloaded free for Singapore users.

To celebrate this MeRadio, they put up a dance routine.
BTW, while these are going on, there are free flow of food and drinks.
And following that, Rozz and Young started to walk around the booth areas where there were showcase of AR (Augmented Reality) on HTC and the Apps from Republic Poly. There were questions and answers session where winners got a prize. Here are the winners.
Here are some of the apps done by Republic Poly.
SG Bill Spilt, SG Hotlines and World Heritage Site
SG Traffic Cam, SBS NextBus, NDP OnTheGO 2010
QuickDesk, HelixLauncher
Rozz and Young had some fun asking questions about their apps.
I wonder what answer did he give…
The event ended with prize giving of 6 winners (SGD1,000 + HTC Wildfire).
BTW, at the end of the event, most did not get to touch the Wildfire. And I guess many were wondering why it is called a Wildfire Launch without the handset for the media to explore. Of course, some of the Republic Students have the Wildfire with them. I did have a minute or so with it though.

And here is a short video that I made on the performance. Enjoy
