Sony Debuts Latest Wearable Walkman® W Series,
Featuring Water Resistance
Water resistant and washable, the new Walkman® W series is perfect for sports and active lifestyle use
(Singapore, 6 May 2010) – Sony Singapore today expands its Walkman® MP3 player collection with the launch of the latest Walkman® W series. Advancing its revolutionary design, the new W series is now water resistant and washable.
“As a pioneer in portable music players, Sony understands consumers’ desire for portability and durability,” says Mr. Taisuke Nakanishi, Managing Director, Sony Singapore. “With the latest Walkman® W series, Sony offers media players that are lightweight and durable, with extended playback times that are perfect for users with lead active, sporty lifestyles. In addition, the NWZ-W252 is now water resistant and washable, so users can always enjoy their music, be it rain or shine.”
Suitable for use in active sports, the wearable Walkman® W series is now water resistant and washable, allowing the player to be used in rainy conditions and even cleaned under running water. Similar to its predecessor, it features a unique wire-free, ergonomic design for comfortable fit and convenient music playback while exercising.
Music transfers with the Walkman® W series are simple and fuss-free – the included Content Transfer software lets you easily transfer your music files directly from Windows Explorer or iTunes® to the Walkman® with its simple drag-and-drop interface.
In addition, the W series is equipped with a unique music navigation interface for quick music browsing. When the ZAPPINTM feature is activated, the main chorus of each song is played, allowing users to easily scan through their music library, whether on multiple playlists and folders, to find the song they want to hear.
The NWZ-W252 offers up to 11 hours of playback time with a full charge of 90 minutes, providing definitive convenience and freedom for users to move around while listening to their favourite tunes. Users who are frequently on-the-go will also benefit from the W series’ Quick Charge function which allows the Walkman® to play up to 90 minutes of music with a short 3 minutes charging time. Extremely light at 43g and available in four vibrant colors of pink, white, lime green and black, the compact, foldable W series is trendy and portable for active use.
The new Walkman® W series will be available at all authorized Sony retailers with a suggested retail price of S$129 inclusive of GST.
