Motorola DEXT Review – Physical Look

Motorola DEXT was launched recently (20th January) at The Central Helipad. This phone is exclusive to Singtel. That means if you want it with a line, you have to get it at Singtel. Here is my review on the phone based on it physical outlook. Will do a thorough walkthrough later.

The phone has a screen size of 3.1-inch.

As you can see above, it has a camera (5-MegaPixels) without flash.

Here is a close up of the camera (BTW, it does not have a front facing camera).

It comes with a Qwerty keyboard. I do not own a keyboard phone before. I will not comment too much on it. However, texting on the keyboard is much easier (as compared to touch screen). I would think that if Motorola can come up with a 4 row Qwerty keyboard (with another row for numeric), it would be much nicer.

I like the DPAD as it makes navigating easier.

Looking at the back when the keyboard slides out, you can see Motorola’s logo with the infamous BLUR (Blur is a platform from  Motorola that synchronizes all things into an integrated platform). The logo will light up if the screen is activated.

On the side, you can see a small switch to turn your phone into slient mode easily (similar to iPhone’s function). Next, the volume up/down buttons and follows by the micro USB connection port.

On the other side, you have a power on/off button and it also serves as a screen on/off button. Below it is the camera button to take pictures.

On the bottom of the phone, it is clean.

On the top of the phone, it has a 3.5mm phone jack.

At the front of the screen, there are 3 buttons.

This is what you will see after taking out the cover and battery.

In my opinion, the back cover is very thin and flimsy. However, since you don’t take it out often, it should be ok.

Here is a close up of the MicroSD Card Slot and SIM card slot.

Motorola added a strip to prevent the card in the slots from moving. I think it is a good way to prevent contact issue.

And here is the battery.

I will be doing some more review later. Watch out for it.
