Since WirelessSG started a few years ago, I have been using it. It is free and convenient. Although not perfect as it sometimes drop the signal suddenly, it is still the best and FREE resource to have if you want to surf the Internet while you are outside. From Tuesday, WirelessSG made another improvement. the Internet speed had increased from 512Kbs to 1Mbps.
Over these years, I have seen improvements to it. More importantly, it has the hotspots increased from the miserably 900 to the current 7500. With the increase, it becomes more useable.
BTW, the WirelessSG is managed by operators SingTel, iCell and Qmax Communications. And their next plan is to implement a solution to reduce the frequent dropped connections.
They will be using a system called the Seamless and Secure Access (SSA). It will automatically log in users when connections are dropped, so they need not enter their login information all over again. Kudos to such move 🙂 . However you will need to wait until 2010 for the implementation.
