Latest Acer Aspire Timeline Laptop is Sexy, Ultra Thin with 8 hours Battery Life – Video Within

I was invited to a bloggers’ event for Acer’s latest laptop, Timeline. It is a very sexy device. Very thin and has a very long battery life (8hrs). It comes with  technology that makes the laptop cooler (by up 5 degree Celsius, according to the brochure). It is Energy Star 5.0 Compliant), a multi-touch pad and comes in 4 different configurations for Singapore market during the launch.

According to Acer, the 4 configurations will vary below the S$2000 range. The biggest differences in the configuration are the screen size, processor, RAM and hardisk capacity. This Aspire Timeline range will be officially launched on the 15th May in Singapore.

The keyboard is big and well spaced, which is good. However, the arrow buttons are a tad too small. You will need a little bit of time to get use to. Otherwise, the keyboard is very comfortable.

I like the exterior. The finishing is very good and it is not a finerprint magnet. 🙂

All the models come with Windows Vista Home.

The optical drive is very slim.

timeline_07

The Aspire Timeline range comes with HDMI port. Good!

timeline_08

One of the innovation on this range is the cooling through the collabration with Intel by adopting the Intel Laminar Wall Jet Technology. BTW, this is the same advance cooling technology applied in today’s modern jet engines. 🙂

Multi-touch on the touchoad. Look at the gesture. You will need to remember them as the sticker is usually removed after purchase.

As metioned earlier, the keyboard is well spaced.

Although the Timeline range can achieve 8hrs of battery life (through smart battery management software), it still retain the small battery size factor.

As you can see, the latest Acer adaptar has a new logo onto them. BTW, the adapter is the standard 65w type.

A blow up of the adapter information for the serious reader.

The Acer Crystal eye can deliver 720p (HD) quality video. It is the first that I have seen, so far.

timeline_17

In the software, you can choose from the 3 settings.

Video Capture control.

This is the smart battery management. Of course, it also has to do with the Ultra Low Voltage processor and the type of application that it is running. According to Acer, the 8 hours is the maximum that this Timeline range can achieve.
