This was achieved by a PhD student in Carleton University in Canada. He invented a “transmitter system on package” to extend the battery life of mobile devices. More information after the break.
Apparently, the concept is very simple. energy is lost through wires. Atif Shamin understood this theory very well. So he decided to remove all wiring on the iPhone and replaced with his own designed high frequency micro-transmitter and receiver.
By using them, he managed to reduce loss of power through the cable significantly. So, by wirelessly communicating with the different modules using his self designed devices, he managed to improved the efficiency of iPhone and thus improve the battery life by 12 times.
