In Japan, cycling is very common. However, to allocate parking space for these bicycles in Japan seems to be a problem. Giken ECO Cycle is here to solve this problem. Its automation system allows bicycle to be parked in their underground system in 13 seconds.
And it can house a few hundred bicycles. What you need is an IC chip on your bicycle for the system to recognize it. By the press of a button, the bicycle is safely stored underground. And using an account card, you can retrieve the bicycle. Check out this video.

I think it will be cool if this can be implemented in Singapore. However, seems like there is a limit on the type of bicycle.
