I had a review unit (without the heatsink model), and my first impression is that it is very fast. I used it with the UGREEN 20GBPS SSD enclosure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The read\/write speed for the 9100 Pro is 14,800 MB\/sand 13,400 MB\/s respectively. Very impressive specs. Transferring a 6GB files just take seconds and I am not using the full potential of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not cheap if you are just using it for storage. BTW, this SSD is not design for this purpose too. Its purpose, as you can see from the below Press Release, is for Client PCs, PlayStation 5 and etc. There are other usages like AI storage that requires high performance SSD for its purpose, or 8k video editor and etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With sequential read and write speeds of up to 14,800 MB\/s and 13,400 MB\/s respectively,<\/em> the 9100 PRO delivers next-level performance in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB capacities<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung Electronics Singapore is launching the 9100 PRO in Singapore, its first consumer SSD series that supports PCIe\u00ae<\/sup> 5.0, with sequential read and write speeds of up to 14,800 MB\/s and 13,400 MB\/s respectively. The 9100 PRO is Samsung\u2019s fastest consumer SSD to date, delivering best-in-class performance for high-productivity multitasking on laptops, gaming PCs and game consoles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Available in four capacity types – 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB – the 9100 PRO range caters to users who need faster access speeds for parallel data processing workloads on their laptop or PC, especially professional creators who handle artificial intelligence (AI) based content. Users who enjoy extreme gaming experiences will also benefit from the SSD\u2019s high-performance and extended storage capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced Performance and Improved Power Efficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With PCIe\u00ae<\/sup> 5.0 support, the 9100 PRO is almost twice as fast as the previous generation, delivering sequential read and write speeds of up to14,800 MB\/s and 13,400 MB\/s respectively (990 PRO PCIe\u00ae<\/sup> 4.0 4TB\u2019s sequential read speed is 7,450MB\/s). The SSD\u2019s random read and write speeds also get boosts with up to 2,200K IOPS and 2,600K IOPS, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power efficiency for the 9100 PRO is 49% better than the previous generation due to the SSD\u2019s enhanced heat management solution. This makes the 9100 PRO 2TB\u2019s sequential read and write power efficiency is 1,822 and 1,703 MBs\/s per Watt, respectively, while 990 PRO 4TB\u2019s sequential read and write is 1,221 and 1,255 MBs\/s per Watt, respectively).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overheating Prevention, Expanded Storage Capacity and Broad Device Compatibility<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1TB, 2TB and 4TB models of the 9100 PRO also come with a 8.8mmT Heatsink that complies with the PCISIG\u00ae D8 standard specification, enabling easier thermal control and prevent overheating.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separately, the 9100 PRO\u2019s 8TB model features a thicker 11.25mmT heatsink and is Samsung\u2019s first NVMe SSD to offer the expanded capacity, providing support for a variety of gaming experiences as well as next-generation game development and content creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung Magician Software Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To help users optimise and enhance the functionality of Samsung SSDs, the 9100 PRO will come with Samsung Magician software support, which helps streamline data migration for SSD upgrades, provide data protection, drive health monitoring, and enable timely notifications for firmware updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Availability and Pricing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1TB, 2TB and 4TB models of the 9100 PRO series will be available from 4 April 2025 via the Samsung Online Store, the Samsung Official Store on Lazada and Shopee as well as selected consumer electronics stores. The 8TB model will be available from June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
