Samsung’s new lifestyle Smart Monitor is not your typical monitor. It is so smart that it doesn’t need your computer to play Netflix or watch YouTube. It will be available in December and here is what it does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you think of monitor nowadays, you might think of external monitor that extends beyond your computer screen or just duplicate it onto a larger screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung latest lifestyle Smart Monitor can definitely do that but that’s not what the smart monitor can only do. It has built-in WiFi, BlueTooth and even Tizen OS and Samsung’s Smart Hub to play your favorite Netflix movies using your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lifestyle smart monitor comes in 2 models – M5 (27-inch, 32-inch) and M7 (32-inch). They will be available in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung Announces Availability of New Lifestyle Smart Monitor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Versatile and affordable \u2018do-it-all\u2019 screen offers flexibility for work, learning and entertainment at home<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SINGAPORE \u2013 26 November 2020 \u2013<\/strong> Samsung Electronics Singapore today announced the availability of its all-new Smart Monitor from December 2020. The Samsung Smart Monitor is an innovative, do-it-all screen that brings together an unprecedented suite of features for work, learning and entertainment in a single display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed to meet the new needs of today\u2019s consumers, who are now working, learning and consuming entertainment at home, the Samsung Smart Monitor incorporates powerful mobile and PC connectivity, remote home office and learning features as well as Smart Hub, a comprehensive entertainment hub, similar to Samsung\u2019s built-in Smart TV platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs remote working and learning arrangements are expected to continue for the foreseeable future, it is no surprise that many are rethinking their technology set up at home that can meet their different needs. Our new Smart Monitor offers flexibility of usage with both PC and smartphone connectivity, consumers no longer have to choose between a screen for one or the other as this display streamlines all experiences within one screen,\u201d said Jacus Long, Director & Head, Display and Brand Memory Business, Samsung Electronics Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Samsung Smart Monitor provides numerous connectivity options for both PCs and smartphones. Users can connect their personal mobile devices with just a simple tap using Tap View[1]<\/sup>, App Casting or Apple AirPlay 2. For a complete desktop experience using a mobile device, users can also connect to the monitor with Samsung DeX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For home office and learning, the display operates Microsoft Office 365 applications[2]<\/sup>\u00a0without a PC connection thanks to embedded Wi-Fi, allowing users to view, edit and save documents in the cloud directly from the monitor. Remote Access also allows users wirelessly and remotely access files from a PC or view content from a laptop whether it is situated elsewhere in the house or at the office. The USB Type-C port[3]<\/sup>\u00a0allows for data, display and power \u2014 up to 65W \u2014 with just a single connection, keeping the area around the monitor clean and beautiful. Multiple USB ports and Bluetooth 4.2 allow for additional connection versatility while the display has built-in two channel speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When work is done, the display also operates as a complete entertainment hub with the ability to stream content with Samsung\u2019s Smart Hub. The monitor\u2019s app store allows users to stream their favourite content including Netflix, HBO and YouTube[4]<\/sup>\u00a0even without a connection to a PC or mobile device. Content can easily be accessed with the supplied remote control, which includes streaming service hot keys. The display can also be controlled by voice thanks to Bixby integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Smart Monitor also features technology designed to make viewing more comfortable. Adaptive Picture optimises picture quality for any viewing environment by automatically adjusting brightness and colour temperature in response to room conditions. This ensures the most comfortable viewing experience in any environment, reducing eye strain even after extended use. The monitor also features a special eye-saver mode to reduce blue light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The monitor is available in two models at launch. The M7 supports Ultra-High Definition (UHD) resolution in 32-inch while the M5 supports Full HD (FHD) resolution in 32-inch and 27-inch options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
