It is always heartwarming to see companies initiating projects to help others. Huawei, in this case, launches a new mobile app (StorySign) that can help translate books for deaf children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using human actor, the facial expressions and movements (sign language) are captured and transformed into<\/g> an animated avatar. The children will be able to learn the words while watching the avatar performs the sign language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think this is really a genius app to engage these children with disability to enjoy the learning process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The app is currently only available in the UK and Europe with plans to expand to Asia next year<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SINGAPORE, 19 DECEMBER 2018 \u2013 <\/strong>Huawei Consumer Business Group<\/a> has recently launched StorySign, a mobile app that uses artificial intelligence to translate books into sign language for children who are deaf. Huawei believes in using the power of technology to good use and to push the boundaries of what is humanly possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are approximately 32 million deaf children globally and many struggle to learn to read, often due to a lack of resources bridging sign language and reading. To address this, Huawei developed the StorySign app in partnership with the European Union of the Deaf and the British Deaf Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
