Xiaomi launches Mi A1, in collaboration with Google in India. This is Xiaomi’s first device to run on the evolved Android One<\/a>. \u00a0It will be arriving in Singapore in October.<\/p>\n

The Mi A1 is running on Android One OS which is supposedly designed for low-cost phones. However, Mi A1 comes with premium features like metal body, dual lens configuration with optical zoom, fingerprint and in various color options.<\/p>\n

Price wise, at\u00a0INR 14,999 (around S$317), it is affordable (for the premium features). Singapore pricing and availability will be announced later, although it was mentioned that it will be available through online and offline channels.<\/p>\n

Mi A1 runs on stock Android to offer a high-quality software experience designed by\u00a0Google, underscoring Xiaomi\u2019s commitment to providing more choices for users. Priced\u00a0from INR 14,999 in India, Mi A1 is a beautifully-designed device that combines\u00a0hardware innovations, including an optical zoom dual camera setup, with great Google-designed\u00a0software.<\/p>\n

At a launch event in New Delhi, India, it was announced that Mi A1 would be available\u00a0in India and also in more than 40 markets around the world including Indonesia,\u00a0Vietnam, Russia, Poland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Ukraine, and Mexico. Local pricing in\u00a0these markets will be available at a later date.<\/p>\n

Dual camera with optical zoom for more beautiful portrait shots<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mi A1 incorporates a dual camera configuration similar to that in Mi 6, Xiaomi\u2019s latest\u00a0flagship device, with wide angle and telephoto lenses used to incredible effect.<\/p>\n

The two lenses allow Mi A1 to calculate what is in the foreground and what is in the\u00a0background, creating a depth-of-field effect that typically requires a DSLR lens to\u00a0achieve, allowing the user to create photos of unparalleled clarity and color. In addition,\u00a0an improved Beautify mode that makes selfies look more natural, now works with the\u00a0both the front 5MP camera as well as the 12MP dual rear camera.
