With Google Wifi, we’re creating a system that provides seamless coverage for homes of any shape or size. New features will continue to be added to all of our Wi-Fi devices via automatic updates.

A new kind of home Wi-Fi system

Using a single router to spread signal throughout your whole home is like expecting one light bulb to light up every room. Walls and distance make it difficult for a single router to send a strong signal to every room in your home, which can result in slow Wi-Fi and dead zones.

With Google Wifi, you can place multiple Wifi “points” in different rooms for strong Wi-Fi in every corner of your home. We recommend putting them out in the open, about two rooms apart.

The system uses a technology called mesh Wi-Fi. Within our mesh network, each Google Wifi point creates a high-powered connection, and they work together to determine the best path between points for your data (no Ethernet cables required). The result is Wi-Fi coverage throughout your house, not just right next to the router. You can even roam through your house while on a video call or streaming a movie.

Fits homes of any shape or size

A three-pack Google Wifi covers homes up to 2,700 sq. ft (251 sq. m).* If you want to expand coverage further — like if you move to a larger home, or want signal on the balcony– simply add on another Wifi point and they’ll work together seamlessly.

Built to handle all your Wi-Fi needs

Today’s Wi-Fi hungry homes need a solution that can handle high bandwidth activities such as 4K streaming and online HD gaming in every room in our home. Put your Google Wifi system to the test by streaming, downloading, and gaming simultaneously in multiple rooms and try streaming that HD video at the edge of your home. Google Wifi is designed to help ensure that you can stream up to five 4K video streams simultaneously at the furthest reaches of your home (if your internet package can handle it).

Manages your network so you never have to

Most of the time, you don’t want to worry about adjusting router settings. Network Assist is advanced Google software that’s always working in the background, adjusting complex settings to keep your signal fast. If it discovers congestion from nearby devices, it will switch you to a clearer Wi-Fi channel. If it sees a stronger, faster connection, it will help your device roam to the better Wifi point. And Network Assist will automatically select the fastest band for your devices. The result is seamlessly strong Wi-Fi. You can always check the Network Assist tab within the app to see if the system has made any adjustments.

Offers help when you need it

Network Assist offers simple insights to help you get the most out of your Wi-Fi, and helps you quickly resolve issues if they arise. For example, it can tell you if you could get faster speeds by moving one of your Google Wifi points, or alerts you if your ISP has gone offline.

A simple way to control what matters

For times when you want to control your network, we make it easy through our companion app.** From the start, the app helps get you online with simple step-by-step instructions. Once you’re online, the app allows you to do things like easily find and share your password, see what devices are connected, and even prioritize a device for the fastest speeds when it matters most.

Pause Wi-Fi on kids’ devices

Through the Google Wifi app, you can press pause on kids’ devices, like during bedtime or dinnertime, and with the Scheduled Pause feature you can create recurring times to pause the internet.

Passwords made easy

The Google Wifi app makes it easy to find and share your password while keeping your system secure. You can easily text or email your password to friends, family or guests. Say goodbye to the days of lost passwords!

Helpful customer support

If you ever need help with your Google Wifi system, we’re here for you. Google support agents are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

*Home materials and layout can affect how Wi-Fi signal travels. Homes with thicker walls or long, narrow layouts may need extra Wifi points for full coverage. Google Wifi requires broadband Internet. Strength and speed of signal will depend on your Internet provider. The above recommendation for number of Wifi points is just a guide.

**The app requires a mobile device with Android 4 and up or iOS 8 and up.

Each Wifi point requires a nearby electrical outlet.

Ten Things about Google Wifi App

What I feel is the most powerful about Google Wifi is the app. Here are ten things you can do with the Google Wifi app.

Get set up quickly

The app (Google Play l iOS) walks you through setup, step by step, so you’ll be online in no time. Google Wifi is a mesh networking system that replaces traditional routers, putting an end to dead zones at home and ensuring strong and fast signals for all your connected devices. Singapore is the first country in Southeast Asia to introduce Google Wifi.

Set up and control your network with the Google Wifi app

With Google Wifi, you no longer need to schedule an appointment with a technician to set up your new router. Google Wifi makes it so easy that you can do it yourself. Simply download the Google Wifi app available on Android or iOS and follow the step by step instructions, so you’ll be online in no time.

With the Google Wifi app, you can also see which devices are connected to your network and how much bandwidth they’re using. Streaming your favourite scene from Descendants of the Sun on your TV? Give it more bandwidth and a faster connection by selecting it as a “Priority Device”. Now you can sit back and enjoy that episode uninterrupted by other devices in your home.

Giving you fast Wi-Fi anywhere, anytime

Singapore has the world’s fastest broadband speeds1 but sometimes it may not feel like it. Traditional Wi-Fi routers aren’t always built to support the increasing number of devices we use or high bandwidth activities like gaming or watching videos. Most of us just want our Wi-Fi to work fast at home, without spending time managing our network or pushing the reset button on the router.
With Google Wifi , your device will always be placed on the channel with optimal Wi-Fi connection. Even as you are moving from room to room, Network Assist will automatically transition your device between the Google Wifi system points, keeping you connected to the point with the strongest signal so you avoid dead spots or delays.

Helping your family with special everyday moments

We know it’s tough to put a pause on your kid’s FIFA video game or get everyone to the dinner table. The Google Wifi app lets you pause Wi-Fi on your kids’ devices or create scheduled pauses for dinner time and bedtime, so you can fully engage in that mealtime conversation or squeeze in one more session of bedtime storytelling. Lights out, Wi-Fi out!

Martin Geh, Managing Director, APAC Hardware Partnerships at Google said, “Having a fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection is important to Singaporeans. Google Wifi provides seamless coverage at home, solving common issues like dead zones, spotty Wi-Fi connections, confusing set-up processes and so much more. Parents will also have greater control of their family’s Wi-Fi network, enabling them to spend quality time with their children whenever they want.”
Google Wifi in stores on 31 August Starting 31 August, customers in Singapore will be able to buy a three-pack Google Wifi bundle at $15 per month over 24 months when they sign up for or renew selected StarHub Broadband or Hubbing all-in-one plans.

Mr. Howie Lau, Chief Marketing Officer, StarHub said, “Mesh networking is quickly becoming popular, and we are thrilled to be Google’s exclusive local partner for Google Wifi, which has set the standard for ease-of-use, performance and affordability. With Google Wifi, our home broadband customers can easily enjoy wireless broadband connections at every corner of their homes.”

About Google

Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
