For those who had watched “The Martian” movie and are inspired to have the chance to live in Mars, maybe you\u00a0are not that far away. In 2026, the first crews will venture to Mars and stay there for good. Yes, it is a one way ticket to Mars and this is not a joke or a movie.<\/p>\n

In 2011, the Mars One mission actually started and progressed with selection of crews in 2013. Over 200,000 applicants (because anyone can join) and few were selected. They will be going for training in 2016. According to the information on the website, it is cheaper for a one way trip to Mars.\u00a0So, for the crews, there is NO return tickets. Six\u00a0pods will be their initial targets for a living colony. Those who live there \u00a0will have to plant their crops and perform daily tasks to survive.<\/p>\n

Like in “The Martian” movie, there will be facility for showers and they will wear normal clothes within the living quarters. Once outside, they will need to don their Mars suit. As it is a non-profit organization<\/a>, I am not sure if all their plans will pull through since there are many doubts in the plans (e.g. funding, feasibility and etc).<\/p>\n
