Today, we bid our most sincere farewell to our Founding PM (and IMO, Founding Father of modern Singapore), Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. It is heartening to see Singaporeans lining the streets, regardless of race, language of religion, to bid an emotional farewell to him. Even with the heavy downpour, Singaporeans and friends of the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew lined by the road with our National Flag. Some mentioned that heaven is also weeping.<\/p>\n

Some may also remembered that in 1968, there was a heavy downpour but Mr. Lee soldiered on to watch the parade. Today, Singaporeans did the same for him, lining up the streets to bid farewell to this great man.<\/p>\n

I have visited on of the the memorial sites. It was a solemn event. Some people were seen crying, and most of us were penning our thoughts on the condolence book.<\/p>\n

Regardless of language, race and religion, young or old, many penned their thoughts.<\/p>\n

Very thoughtful that they made a stamp in remembrance of LKY.<\/p>\n

I applaud our fellow Singaporeans who have shown unity and gracefulness in this dark week. Truthfully speaking, I am always worried about Singaporeans not uniting when needed. My worries were unfounded when I saw Singaporeans braving the elements lining up orderly to paid their respects to this old man, and many stories of Singaporeans, Companies helping out in the event.<\/p>\n

And on social media, many restrain were seen when somebody started to discredit Mr. Lee’s contributions to Singapore. This, in my opinion, shows that Singaporeans are matured and level headed.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the medias , many stories about Lee Kuan Yew were retold and children or the younger generations were able to learn more about him. I have also benefited from these programs.<\/p>\n

Till date, this is the best performance to show the world that Singapore is as united as ever, the best I have seen in my lifetime. I am truthfully honored, grateful, and happy to call Singapore my home and myself as a Singaporean.<\/p>\n
