As I don&#8217;t travel on the train or buses often, I wonder what kind of diverse effect will it cause to commuters (heavy users). \u00a0In the Press Release, it did not state the reason(s) for the cessation. From\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_1352768035\">1 January 2015<\/span>\u00a0onwards, they can continue to use the Season Pass as a normalez-link\u00a0card by adding stored value into the\u00a0ez-link\u00a0purse. If they do not wish to use the Season Pass as a normal\u00a0ez-link\u00a0card, holders may surrender the card and obtain a refund of any balance value in the\u00a0ez-link\u00a0purse from any TransitLink Ticket Office. There will be no refund of any unused period on any monthly pass or weekly pass.<\/p>\n<p>EZ-Link\u00a0will still accept new Season Pass applications until\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_1352768036\">31 October 2014<\/span>, but advises against it because of the impending discontinuation of the Season Pass scheme, and wishes to highlight that there will not be any refund for the card and personalisation fee.<\/p>\n<p>To inform Season Pass holders and the public about the discontinuation,\u00a0EZ-Link\u00a0will be sending text messages via SMS to existing pass holders; and placing advisory notices on the home page of its website (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ezlink.com.sg\/\">www.ezlink.com.sg<\/a>), at TransitLink Ticket Offices, and on\u00a0EZ-Link\u2019s Facebook (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/myezlink\">www.facebook.com\/myezlink<\/a>) and Twitter (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/ezlinksg\">www.twitter.com\/ezlinksg<\/a>) pages.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with queries about the Season Pass can call the\u00a0EZ-Link\u00a0hotline at 6496 8300, from 0800 \u2013 1800 hours daily except public holidays, or email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:customerservice@ezlink.com.sg\">customerservice@ezlink.com.sg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2009, the Season Pass is a travel pass that allows unlimited travel on basic bus services, MRT and LRT within the period of validity of the type of pass purchased. With the evolving landscape,\u00a0EZ-Link\u00a0has decided to cease its Season Pass service and work towards delivering value, convenience and ease of travel to commuters in other ways.<\/p>\n<p># # #<\/p>\n<p><strong>About\u00a0EZ-Link\u00a0Pte Ltd<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EZ-Link\u00a0Pte Ltd was formed on 8 January 2002. Its core business is the clearing and settlement of all\u00a0ez-link\u00a0card transactions generated in transit and non-transit (retail\/merchant) environments, as well as the sale, distribution and overall management of\u00a0ez-link\u00a0cards. To date, more than 17 million new CEPAS-compliant\u00a0ez-link\u00a0cards have been issued. This is in tandem with the government\u2019s plan to promote cashless payments in Singapore.
