Press Release<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n DataRoam Saver service for Malaysia<\/em><\/p>\n Singapore, 3 October, 2014<\/strong> \u2013 Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) today unveiled Singapore\u2019s first \u201cRoam Like Home\u201d data roaming add-on service to Malaysia. Priced at just S$10 per month and available from today, the DataRoam Saver Malaysia (Monthly) 1GB service offers customers 1GB of roaming data in Malaysia via SingTel’s preferred partner, Maxis.<\/p>\n Under this new service, customer can \u201cRoam Like Home\u201d and enjoy data roaming rates similar to local data rates. Excess data charges beyond the data bundle will only cost subscribers S$0.10\/MB, the lowest rate in Singapore.<\/p>\n Mr Johan Buse, SingTel\u2019s Vice President of Consumer Marketing, said: \u201cMore than 250,000 SingTel customers travel to Malaysia every month, and the new DataRoam Saver Malaysia (Monthly) 1GB service will allow them to enjoy data usage rates similar to what they pay in Singapore. More importantly, the service offers great convenience and value for money without our customers having to search for elusive WiFi hotspots or juggle multiple SIM cards.\u201d<\/p>\n Existing DataRoam Saver Malaysia (Monthly) 100MB plan enjoys free upgrade<\/strong><\/p>\n Bundled data for the existing DataRoam Saver Malaysia (Monthly) 100MB plan will also be upgraded from 100MB to 200MB per month. The subscription fee for all new and existing customers will remain at S$5 per month.<\/p>\n Mr Buse added: \u201cWith the DataRoam Saver Daily and DataRoam Saver Monthly services to Malaysia, our customers can choose from a variety of data roaming plans to suit their needs. Whether you are a frequent traveller or heading to Malaysia for a day trip, you can select and activate your desired data roaming plan easily.\u201d<\/p>\n All DataRoam Saver plans come with SingTel\u2019s Network Lock feature. This feature protects customers from unintended pay-per-use data charges if their phone roams onto a non-preferred network. Customers will also receive SMS reminders when they have utilised 50 percent and 100 percent of their data roam plan.
